What the app does
Scan a product
Point your camera at a barcode to see whether the item is likely eligible, restricted, not eligible, or uncertain.
Apply your state’s rules
Choose your state and the app applies supported state food restrictions, such as limits on soda or candy, on top of federal SNAP rules.
Flag uncertain results
When product data is thin, the app says Uncertain instead of guessing. Think a result is wrong? Report it for review.
Why EBT Snap Scan exists
It started with a conversation about new state SNAP food rules and the shoppers asking the obvious question: how will I know what’s eligible? Rules are written by category, but people shop by product. There should be an app for that, so we built one.
